Ron was born June 20, 1942 in St. Louis, Mo, the son of first generation americans of Russian and Romanian descent. He attended University City High School, Epstein Hebrew Academy and the University of the Americas in Mexico City. Ron had a successful 23-year career with Weight Watchers of St. Louis, eventually bringing him to Weight Watchers International. Ron was a selfless man with a vibrant sense of humor.

Silvia F. Mayer, died January 17, 2009. Wife and companion of Alan Lang Mayer; mother of Andrew Lang (Deborah) Mayer and Lincoln Mayer; grandmother of Elena Besse Mayer and Jacob Saville Mayer; sister of the late Evelyne Farber, the late Dorothy TanenbaumBirenbaum and the late Alan Farber; sister-in-law of Robert M. (the late Marjorie W.) Mayer; daughter of the late Jacob and Bessie Farber; daughter-in-law of the late Saville “Solly” and Selma Lang Mayer. Ben Peck, died January 16, 2009 at age 90. Husband of Dorothy; father of Bill; grandfather of Craig (Thea) and Brian (Heather); greatgrandfather of Talia, Elora, Max and Jordan; brother of Shirley Goldberger, Jack Peck and Sid Peck. He was former president of Wohl Shoe Company from 1963 through 1984, beginning his career with the company in 1937 as a salesman in Detroit, Mich. During World War II, he served with the 106th army infantry as a supply sergeant, was severely wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and received a purple heart. He was later promoted to a tech sergeant. Ben served on the board of directors of Brown Shoe Company, Commerce Bank, World Jewish Congress Ambassadors Circle, the National Shoe Retail Association, National Retail Merchants Association and was trustee for Congregation Shaare Emeth. His charitable contributions included St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Jewish Hospital of St. Louis and the Jewish Home for the Aged in St. Paul, Minn. in honor of his late mother, Jennie Peck. Dr. Harold Tachman, died January 17, 2009. Widower of Elfriede Tachman; father of Dr. Michael (Cindy) Tachman of Granger, Ind., and Mark (Beth) Tachman of Chapel Hill, N.C.; grandfather of Erica, Jacqueline, and Alex Tachman, Tyler Seyda Tachman and Dylan Seyda Tachman (of blessed memory); son of the late Max and the late Leah Tachman; brother of the late Joe S. (the late Natalie) Tachman and the late Rose (the late Jack) Barr. Dr. Tachman attended Soldan High School and was a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry. He served in WWII in Europe and in the Philippines. He was a member of the American Optometric Association, a member of Shaare Zedek synagogue and a former president of the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Tachman resided for the last five years with his family in Granger, Ind.
