BEVERLY KRAUS (Bev and Bunny), died February 24, 2009. Wife of Alan; mother of Bryan Kraus and Carolyn (David) Grove; sister of Rosalie (the late Sidney) Franklin; sister-in-law of Jerry (Linda) Kraus, Michael (Kathy) Kraus, Eunice (Jack) Levy; grandmother of Trevor and Connor Kraus and Kerri and Jadon Grove; foster-sister of Shelley (Herb) Koffler; mother-in-law of Karen Kraus. Beverly was not raised in a traditional family, yet became a cherished member of numerous families. Beverly was born into the large, loving Schram family (Mass, Weil, Cooper). Bev was raised from early childhood in her second family with dozens of “siblings” at the Jewish Children’s Home in St. Louis. At sixteen, she began living with her third family, the Rudmans and at age nineteen, she married Alan Kraus. While maintaining her wide-ranging family of “sisters” and friends from the Home, and three different high schools, she added additional friends at college and her jobs. In 1972 Bev began her real estate career, was top sales associate and in 1978 distinguished herself as the first woman sales manager of what became Coldwell Banker Gundaker. She concluded her real estate career as manager of the Ladue office. Bev and Alan were very appreciative the gift of her extra time because of the compassion and care for nearly three years by those at Washington University Medical School, BJC and the Siteman Cancer Society.
