MAYNARD SAM WEINSTEIN, died April 14, 2009 at the age of 92 in West Palm Beach, Fla. Originally from University City. widower of Rose (Purowitz); son of the late Ousher Zelig and Mollie Aronovitz Weinstein; father of Mark (Deena Gross) Weinstein of Wrightsville, Penn., and David Weinstein of Gardiner, Maine; father-in-law of Marianne Colter Weinstein of Readfield, Maine; grandfather of Charles Weinstein of Readfield, Maine, and his companion Selma Frank of West Palm Beach; brother of the late Maurice, the late Albert, the late Harry and the late Sarah Weinstein. Mr. Weinstein was a Teamster with Local 688, worked for Crown Cork and Seal, was an avid photographer whose picture of a baptism in the Mississippi River received a Certificate of Merit in the 1948 Newspaper National Snapshot Awards through the St. Louis Star-Times Amateur Snapshot Contest, where one of the judges included Ansel Adams.
