JACK R. FISHER, died April 8, 2009. Son of the late Stanton (the late Dorothy) Fisher; husband of Linda Fisher; step-father of Jessica Kessler, Jennifer Hasheider and Lindsey Warnack; step-grandfather; brother of Karen (Kevin) Connolly, Janet Fisher, Susan (Rick) Mergen and Fran Fisher; uncle to Drew Kwiatek; Christopher Mergen, Stephanie, Colleen and Caroline Connolly. HARRIET BURKOFF NEWPORT, died April 6, 2009 in Houston, Texas. Widow of Bernard G. Newport; daughter of Sarah and Philip Burkoff; mother of Lynn (Linda) Newport, Carol Newport (Jerry) Wasserstein; Jeffrey (Tseela) Newport; grandmother of Brent (Sallye) Wasserstein; Bari Newport, Joy (Marc) Nathan and Emily Newman; Jill (Steven) Newman and Mandi Newport; great-grandmother of Becca Naomi and Julia Nathan, Emily Newman; sister-in-law of Carla (Leonard) Weintraub, Dolly Newport and Morris Matlof; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Newport was a teacher in the Ladue School District in St. Louis County, a member of the Harris Teachers College Honorary Sorority, a life member of Hadassah, was a Board Member at Shaare Zedek Congregation in St. Louis for several years and served on the Residents Council of The Medallion at Seven Acres. She enjoyed her time with the Literary Club, Clayton Bridge Club and the Culture Vultures.
