Michael Canis, died July 5, 2009. Michael was born December 12, 1947 and was the son of the late Charles and the late Natalie Canis; son-in-law of the late Henry and the late Marie Rook. He was the adored honeyman and best friend of 30 years of Terry Canis (nee Rook); father of Kasi Marie Canis-Crosby and Kelli Louise Canis; father-in-law of Vincent Crosby; brother of Bruce, Carol, Walter and Janet Canis and Jack and Tammie Judy; uncle of Rachel Sacks, Randy, Terri and Corey Canis, Robin and AJ Moll, Stephanie Rook, Tracy Bacvinskas, John, Jaelith and Jeff Judy and the late Rashelle Rook; great-uncle of Halley Canis-Marek, Evan and Erin Canis, Gregory Nicolarsen, Isaac Judy and baby Noah Moll; cherished lifelong friend and construction partner of Michael Stratton; friend of Thomas Atkins; loving and special friend to Miss Lilly Mae. Mike (Myron) Sheldon Taich, died July 1, 2009 at the age of 65. Husband of Arlene (Pitinsky) Ph.D.; father of Laura (Peter Jeanmougin), Alison (Joseph Bedell) and Adam (Beth); brother of Rosalyn (Jerome) Ellerin, Phyllis (Louis) Hirschberg, and Harry (Barbara) Taich; grandfather of seven adored grandchildren. Born in Lorain, Ohio, Mikie met his wife Arlene at Ohio State University. He received his graduate degree from the University of Missouri-Rolla. They moved to St. Louis where he began his 40 year career with McDonnell Douglas/Boeing Corporation, during which he was credited with designing crucial components to some of the most advanced tactical aircraft flying today.
