Thelma was a breast cancer survivor of 23 years, was a big supporter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, participating in the Race for the Cure and was honored at “The Women’s Event” sponsored by the AMC Cancer Research Center in 1996. She enjoyed traveling around the world with her husband and with her best friends, Nancy and Ronnie Chod, mahjong, reading, cooking and also enjoyed Cardinals and Rams games. Mrs. Sandow was a former President of the St. Louis Furriers Guild and a member of other organizations.
