ELLIS LIPSITZ, M.D., died March 24, 2010. Beloved widower of Edith “Edie” Vorhaus Lipsitz to whom he was married for 66 years; dear father of David A. (Judy) Lipsitz, Judy (David) Capes, Thomas S. (Robyn) Lipsitz, Suzy (Jim) Cornbleet and the late James E. Lipsitz; dear father-in-law of Lori Heise; loving grandfather of Daniel (Crystal) Lipsitz and Emily Lipsitz, Adam (Rachelle) Capes, Betsy (fianc é Mark Kaplan) Capes and Jodie (Daniel) Fogler, Wendy (David) Berry, Julie and Jamie Lipsitz, Amy (Josh) Chatten, Molly Cornbleet and Sam Lipsitz; dear great-grandfather of Abigail Lipsitz, Chloe and Aidan Capes and Mason Berry; dear brother of Robert (Janice) Lipsitz and the late Abe (Marion) Lipsitz; dear brother-in-law of the late Kathryn (the late Al) Sloofman and the late Al (Louise) Vorhaus; our dear uncle, cousin and friend to many. Elly, as he was fondly referred to, attended Soldan High School, Yale University and St. Louis University Medical School, and served as the head psychiatrist stationed in the Phillipines during World War II. He practiced internal medicine with a specialty in chest diseases and was affiliated with both Jewish Hospital and Koch Hospital. During his 30-year tenure at Koch, he worked with Dr. Bernard Friedman to eradicate tuberculosis from St. Louis. In 1960, he became certified in hypnosis and used it to help hundreds of his patients quit smoking. He was beloved by all of his patients for his kindness, compassion and generosity. Elly also was a camp doctor for 18 summers at Camp Wha-Kon-Dah. He was a physically active man who enjoyed playing tennis and waterskiing well into his 70’s. He also loved spending time and fishing at his home at the Lake of the Ozarks. More than anything else, he adored his family. BORIS (BO) BENJAMIN ZEBELMAN, died March 21, 2010 at the age of 84. Formerly of St. Louis, resided in Key West, Florida with his daughter Sharon (Dan) and their family. Bo was born March 27, 1925 in St. Louis to Sarah (Cohen) and Phillip Zebelman. He served in the army air corp during WWII after graduating from Soldan High School. After the war he attended Washington University to study psychology and married Shirley Londe June 8, 1947 in St. Louis. Husband of Shirley; brother of Max (Lynda); father of Sharon (Daniel) Deja and Wesley (Brenda) Zebelman, the late Robyn Zebelman; grandfather of Rick (Ella) Deja, Beau Deja and Patrick Deja and Nikki (Dave) Barnes and Jon (Deanna) Zebelman; great-grandfather of Mica, Olivia and Brody. He loved basketball, played for over 50 years from the Soldan All Start Team to the JCCA. He was a consummate salesman all his life. He was a car dealer for over 30 years in Las Vegas, selling at the flea market, boating on the Mississippi and Lake of the Ozarks and watching his son and grandchildren play sports. He loved fishing in Lake Michigan and the Atlantic Ocean. He was an avid Lakeshore fan and loved watching Lakeshore football. He lived the past 4 years full-time in Key West, Florida.
