GARY S. BERIN, died April 25, 2010. HARVEY ALLEN GILBERT, died January 19, 2010 at the age of 70 in Panama City Beach, Florida. Harvey had been in the area since 1994 moving from Calif. He was originally from St. Louis, where he lived and worked for 45 years. Mr. Gilbert was a graduate of University City High School, New Mexico State University (EE) and Indiana University (Law). Harvey was the General Counsel for the Navy Base in Panama City, Fla. for 15 years and was Patent Counsel at China Lake Naval Weapons Center in Ridgecrest, Calif. for six years. Previous to his last 21 years working for the Navy, Harvey was employed for 23 years with McDonnell-Douglas (now Boeing) in St. Louis. Husband of Marlys Gilbert of Panama City Beach for 47 years; father of Stacey Gilbert of Denver, CO and Scott Gilbert of Aliso Viejo, Calif. Contributions to the Bay County Humane Society.

SIMON PAIM, died April 29, 2010 at the age of 89. Son of Philip and Dora Paim; devoted widower of Anne (Downing) Paim; loving father and stepfather of Sharon (Arnold) Kaufman and Andrea Doetzel, Claudia Preisack, Jack (Mary) Downing and the late Janis Krekel; proud grandfather of Lori Ploudre, Bryan (Katherine) Krekel and Steven (Pam) Kaufman; great-grandfather of Shannon, Shelby, Sarah, Ellie, Caroline and Jacob; loving companion to Helen Usher. Mr. Paim was an Army veteran of World War II, a 50-year member of the Masons and a retired Postal employee. He was a lifelong baseball fan and enthusiastically shared his love of the Cardinals with multiple generations of his family. He was a gentle, kind and compassionate man who was quick to smile and was always the consummate gentleman. He was devoted to his family and his synagogue, Bais Abraham and was a role model for both. He enjoyed many years of active retirement when he renewed his passion for dancing, travel and painting. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
