Ethel was a founding member and past-president of Post 346 Ladies Auxiliary of the Jewish War Veterans and founding member and past-president of the Department of Missouri Jewish War Veterans. She was a founding member of the St. Louis Chapter Auxiliary of the City of Hope and was executive secretary for 27 years for the St. Louis Ethical Society. Ethel was salutatorian of her graduate class and a member of the varsity field hockey team at Maplewood High School. Contributions to the Michael S.
