Howard Karol Mahler, died August 1, 2012 at age 78. Beloved father and father -in-law of Steve (Sue) Mahler, Lori (Ken) Heise, Mindy Mahler and Jamie (Rick) Esses; dear grandfather of Rachel, Lindsey, Galia, Adam, Sam, Alec and Carlie; beloved stepfather of Bill Pieper, Lori (Mario) Salinas, Chris (Francis) Gaebler, Kirk (Pam) Pieper, Mark (Lisa) Pieper, Julie Pieper, Jim (Terie) Pieper and Steve (Ana) Pieper; dear step-grandfather of 20. Mr. Mahler enjoyed a successful career in the furniture business in St. Louis since 1968. He was a volunteer in the Chesterfield Fire Department for over 20 years and the Director for 12 years. Following his Directorship, he remained as Chairman of the Board for many years. Graveside service Friday, August 3, 2:30 p.m., at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery, 9125 Ladue Rd.
