Helene Erman, died February 1, 2012. Beloved widow of Hans Erman; dear mother and mother-in-law of Stanley (Debbie) Erman of Aransas Pass, TX and Doris (Steve) Schwartz; dear grandmother of Dena (Mark) Grbic, Bailee Erman, Estee Schwartz and Drew Schwartz; dear great-grandmother of Luke and Ella Grbic; dear sister of the late Erna Deutsch, late Leo Laufer, late Ferdinand Laufer and late Max Laufer; dear aunt, cousin and friend. Helene’s life spanned 3 continents and included two years on the run escaping from Nazi Germany to Palestine, where she met the love of her life, Hans Erman. After marriage and the birth of their children in the newly established State of Israel, Helene moved to the United States to raise the family that was always the center of her universe. Helene was a Hebrew teacher who deeply touched the hearts and minds of her many adoring students. She was a proud grandmother who will always be remembered for her love of family, her quick wit, and gregarious nature, her beautiful singing voice, her love of dogs and a dazzling game of bridge. The family expresses special thanks to her devoted caregivers. Funeral service Sunday, February 5, 11:00 a.m., at Congregation B’nai Amoona, 324 S. Mason Rd. Visitation after 10:30 a.m. Interment at B’nai Amoona Cemetery, 930 North & South Rd. Memorial contributions preferred to Congregation B’nai Amoona or to a charity of your choice. Berger Memorial
