Harriet Shapiro Dubinsky, June 10, 1930 – April 29, 2019.
Harriet Dubinsky died peacefully at Delmar Gardens of Chesterfield Monday afternoon, April 29th 2019, after many years of suffering various medical challenges. She was lovingly cared for by her devoted husband of 64 years, Albert Irl Dubinsky, who passed away barely four months ago, and her dear friend Elizabeth Brown.
She is survived by her children Lisa Dubinsky, of New York City, and Keith Dubinsky, of Berkeley, California, and her grandson Milo Dubinsky, of Berkeley, California.
Harriet was born in St. Louis where for many years she worked as a volunteer in many organizations providing patient advocacy and counseling for women’s healthcare, including Jewish Hospital and Planned Parenthood. She is remembered for her colorful wit.
Harriet and her husband were early members of Temple Emanuel, where she was a volunteer religious school teacher and frequent participant in community life there, and where Al was past president and longtime treasurer.
A memorial service will be announced by her children later this month.
