Harriet Balch, a.k.a Harriet Cloud, Harriet Zakem, Harriet Beitch, died June 24, 2013 unexpectedly at age 65 in Madison, Wisconsin. She was born September 13, 1947, in St. Louis, MO., to Morris and Cecelia Beitch. She worked as a research scientist, cat breeder, and cake decorator. She was an avid reader and enjoyed being creative. She was proud to be recently Bat Mitzvah’d and to be part of the Temple Beth El community. She is survived by her sister, Beverly Balakhovsky, her sons Micah and Jeffrey Zakem, and her 4 cats. Memorial contributions may be sent in Harriet’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
