Harold Bernard Abrams

Harold Bernard Abrams, died March 6, 2015. Businessman and electrical engineer, at peace at the age of 90 years; beloved husband of Helen “Gigie” Abrams for 61 years; loving father of David Neil Abrams of Roeland Park, Kan.; beloved son of the late Myer and Leona Abrams; dear son-in-law of the late Ann and Edward Duchen; dear brother-in-law of Harriett N. (Marvin) Cherry and the late Marilyn Aach; adoring companion of his beautiful poodle, Mimi; our dear cousin and friend. Mr. Abrams was an electrical engineer for many years with McDonnell Douglas and worked mainly on the Mercury and Gemini Spacecraft programs.  After leaving McDonnell, he founded, and was the CEO of, Mylee Digital Sciences, Inc., where he pioneered the concept of “real time inventory control.” Mr. Abrams received a number of patents for his early design work.  He retired from Mylee in 1981, after which he launched Abrams and Associates. Mr. Abrams was an air force veteran and served with the 11th Air Force in the Aleutian Islands during WW II.  He was an active member of the air force reserve for many years, retiring in 1972, having attained the rank of major.  He was a graduate of the University of Missouri where he was a founding member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi MU Deuteron Chapter. He was also active in the St. Louis Alumni Chapter of AEPi.  He served on the board of directors of United Hebrew Congregation from 1972-1974. Graveside service Monday, March 9, 1:00 PM at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 650 White Road.  Contributions to the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry, 10950 Schuetz Road, St. Louis, Mo. 63146 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.  The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Pathways Community Hospice and the staff at Delmar Gardens West for their excellent care of Harold.
