Gustav Schonfeld, M.D. died May 21, 2011 in New York, New York at 77 years of age. Husband of Miriam; father of Josh (Suzanne) Schonfeld, Julia (Michael) Zeuner and Jeremy (Sarah-Jane Casey) Schonfeld, grandfather of seven. He was born in Munkacs, Hungary and came to St. Louis as a boy with his parents, after surviving the Nazi Holocaust. A long time faculty member at the Washington University School of Medicine, he and his wife were longtime residents of University City. Funeral service Tuesday, May 24th 2:00 p.m. at Berger Memorial Chapel, McPherson at Walton. Visitation Tuesday, 1:30 p.m. Interment Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery.
