Beloved widow of Benjamin Recht; dear mother of Eileen (Larry) Schechter, Marlene (Bob) Gummers, Terry (Steve) Friedman and Laurie (Howard) Wolkowitz; loving grandmother of Stephanie, Jason (Diana) and Emily Schechter, Brian and Todd Gale, Leah (Mike) Weingartner and Jon Gummers, Greg and Alex Friedman, Brad and Kevin Wolkowitz. Great-grandmother of Norah Schechter and Abigail & Jenna Weingartner. Sister of Ruth Chorlins, Irv (Selene) Hammerman and the late Harley Hammerman; sister-in-law of the late Eva (the late Henry) Lacks, the late Rose (the late Harry) Goldberg, the late Ben (the late Ida) Recht and the late Blanche (the late Sam) Shulman. Our dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend. Gert was a longtime volunteer for Life Skills and was formerly on their Board of Directors. She was also a former co-owner of Lewis of London.
