Gertrude (Fogel) Gold, died September 16, 2014. Beloved wife of Dwight Ben Gold, married for sixty-one happy years; loving sister of Nathan Fogel; mother of Marsha (David) Schuman; grandmother of Lisa (Scott) Arnold; great–grandmother of Noah & Shaine; grandmother of Renee (Darren) Grodsky. Congregation Shaare Emeth, 11645 Ladue Road, St. Louis, Mo. 63141. Visitation is at 1 P.M. at Congregation Shaare Emeth, with services beginning at 1:30. Gertrude Gold was well known in the St. Louis community for her tireless effort to help others in need, whatever the situation. She received acknowledgement for her work from the March of Dimes All-Star Revue in her early years. More recently in 2011, a special award was created in her honor from Na’amat USA (Formerly Pioneer Women) for a “Day Care Center Scholarship in Israel” for her years of devoted service to PIONEER WOMAN, NA’AMAT USA and, THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL. Gertrude was also the recipient with a special award and recognition from the Missouri Senate in 2012 on her ninetieth birthday. “It is with special pleasure that the members of the Missouri Senate acknowledge a momentous occasion in the life of one the Show-Me’ state’s most beloved citizens.” Contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or Na’Amat USA.
