Gail M. Lewis (Machtinger), died peacefully surrounded by family July 19, 2015 in St. Louis, Mo. at the age 70. Gail is survived by her husband, Walter F. Lewis, sister Fran Whipple, stepmother Pat Machtinger (Havlicek), and stepbrother Michael Havlicek.  She is preceded in death by sister Kaye Forman (Machtinger), father Sam Machtinger, and mother Pauline Machtinger. Gail was born March 11, 1945 in St. Louis.  She graduated from University City High School in 1963, graduated from University of Missouri at Kansas City with a degree in Education, graduated from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Masters in Library Science.  Gail worked as a School Teacher, librarian, computer repair technician, and telephone system support person. There will be a celebration of life on Wednesday, July 22 from 4:00-8:00 at Walt and Gail’s home.  We will have an informal service at 6:00 for anyone who would like to share their favorite story or memory about Gail.  Contributions to the Cancer Support Community of Greater St. Louis.
