Gail Jean Kravetz

Gail Jean Kravetz, age 83 of St. Louis, died peacefully on June 13, 2022. Jean is survived by her daughter Teri Berry (Tim); grandchildren, Rachel Berry (Tony Porter), Alex Shearon (Willie), and Carson Berry; brother Bruce Michelson (Renee) and her nieces and nephews. Preceded by parents Sam and Lottie Michelson, husband Sanford Kravetz, and sister Anita Berry.

Jean, the second daughter of Sam and Lottie, was born in St. Louis on April 13, 1939. After attending Clayton High School, Jean started her higher education career at Indiana University and finished her degree in education at Washington University in St. Louis. She met and married Sanford Kravetz in 1962. Their daughter Teri was born in 1964. Jean worked for Traveline Limited as a bookkeeper for over 30 years. She lost her husband to melanoma in 1984, and Jean herself survived a valiant fight with breast cancer after being diagnosed in 1993.

Teri and her husband, Tim, made Jean a grandmother in 1992 with the birth of their first daughter, Rachel. As a grandmother, Jean took on her new role as “Ga,” not only to her 3 grandchildren, but to everyone she met. Ga was an example of the power of a positive attitude and a good Cardinal baseball game. She will be dearly missed. May Jean rest in peace.
