Frances Friedman Sears, died December 22, 2011 at age 98. Widow of Walter Sears; beloved friend of Alfonso Menotti; dear mother of Robert (Erica Leisenring) Sears and Katherine Sears; devoted grandmother of Edward (Ned) Sears and Henry Sears; daughter of the late Florentine F. and Robert V. Friedman; sister of the late Barbara (Stanley) Richman; loving aunt of Judith Richman (Peter) Saidel of Albany, N.Y. and the late Joan Richman. She was a graduate of Mary Institute, Class of 1931 and attended Goucher College, graduating from the National College of Education, in Evanston, Illinois. She was active in the Jewish Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and the National Council of Jewish Women. The family held a private burial service. Plans for a memorial service are under way.
