Felix Joshua Sekuler

Felix Joshua Sekuler

Felix Joshua Sekuler, (b. 1916), of Town and Country, MO,  died peacefully on February 15, 2015. Devoted husband of Florence Sekuler, nee Hruska, he was the youngest of  five children born to the immigrant couple, Fannie and Alex, on New York’s Lower East Side. His family moved to Brooklyn when he was eleven, and it was primarily there that he raised his own family, moving to Jericho, Long Island in 1962. After his retirement in 1985, he and Florence moved to south Florida, relocating, in 2008, to  Garden Villas in St. Louis County so they could be closer to their daughter.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and great-uncle–and the  loyalest  of friends.

He is survived by his daughter  Nanette Rochberg (Richard) of University City,  MO, son Eliot Sekuler (Jain)  of Los Angeles, CA;  by grandsons David (Laura Gross)  of Cambridge, MA and  Daniel (Cristina Cardemil)  Rochberg of Decatur, GA;  and great- grandsons  James, Nicolas, and Lucas Rochberg.

Memorial services will be held at 2PM on March 28  at Garden Villas West, 13590  S. Outer 40 Road, in  Town and Country, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations in his memory be sent to the Friends of the University City Public Library, 6701 Delmar, University City, MO, 63130 or to the charity of your choice.
