Eva Ruth Herzog, died January 26, 2015. Loving wife of 58 years to Dr. Godofredo Herzog; loving mother to Dr. Jacques (Nancy) Herzog, Patty Herzog, and Elsa (Randy) Greenblatt; extraordinary grandmother to Richard, William, Andrew (Amanda), Jesse, Alex, Izzy and Danny; doting daughter, daughter-in-law to the late Dr. William and Dr. Elsa Muller and the late Heinrich and Louise Herzog. Born in Czechoslovakia, she and her family escaped from the Nazi regime, settling in La Paz, Bolivia. She was the daughter of two OB/GYNs, who ran the most notable health facility in La Paz. Attended medical school in Bolivia until meeting Godofredo who swept her off her feet and convinced her to marry him and move to St. Louis where he was finishing his medical degree. After living in various cities for several years during Godofredo’s service in the U. S. Air Force, they settled in St. Louis in 1964 with their three children where she lived until 2001, when both she and Godofredo retired to Sarasota, Florida. Eva was the adopted mom to many–she will be remembered for her listening ear and sage advice; valuable friendship to many but most importantly, she will be remembered for the love she showered on her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
