Ellen Bayersdorfer died unexpectedly on September 18, 2021.

She was born on July 21, 1935 in New Orleans, LA. and had lived in Louisville since 1959.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Stanley W. Bayersdorfer, children Carol Cohen (Ed) of St. Louis, Billy Bayersdorfer (Emily Trader) of Columbia, TN, Bob Bayersdorfer and David Bayersdorfer both of Louisville, KY and by her grandchildren, Ellie Cohen (fiancé Julian Groover) of Chicago and Andy Cohen of St Louis. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Kohlmann of New Orleans, her sister-in-law Ruth Sobel of Louisville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ellen volunteered with many organizations throughout the years and, as a cancer survivor, loved volunteering with Gilda’s Club of Kentuckiana. She was also the Volunteer of the Year Award recipient at Jewish Hospital and the American Cancer Society-Louisville and Kentucky Volunteer of the Year.

Above all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend to all.
