Eleanore Novoson, died July 19, 2015 at age 97 in the early morning, in the midst of an unseasonable thunderstorm. She had been residing in Monterey County, Ca. for the past 5 years, but lived 65 years in St. Louis, Mo. where she was loved and honored by the many, many people whose lives she touched. Eleanore was born May 6, 1918 in San Francisco, Ca. to Irene and Paul Sternberg. Her father was an orchestra leader, and they moved their large family from the west coast to Chicago to New York and then back to Seattle where, during World War II she worked at Boeing making airplanes, and where she met Russell Novoson on a blind date. They shared 63 years of marriage in St. Louis, working together every day in real estate, meeting thousands of buyers and sellers who often became their lifelong friends. Eleanore was a perfectionist who loved to make things beautiful. Her home and her garden reflected her artistic bent and appreciation for classic style. She and Russell cleaned, polished, and showed their collection of antique cars with love and pride. She is remembered by friends, neighbors, and family as unfailingly generous and energetic. Eleanore was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Russell J. Novoson. She is survived by her children Jo Ann Novoson (Carl Christensen) and Sherman Novoson (Johnnie Rogers Novoson); her beloved granddaughters Maren Irene Christensen and Audrey Elise Christensen, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
