Eleanor S. Levy passed away on December 9, 2024, at the age of 93.
A lifelong St. Louisan, Eleanor was born February 19, 1931, to Nathan and Sophia Levy. She was the devoted sister to Jerome Levy and sister-in-law of Elaine Levy. She was an alumnus of University City High School. After graduating high school, she attended the University of Missouri and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She was proud that she was one of only five women in the graduating class.
She had a long career in the retail and merchandising industry. At Stix Baer and Fuller she was a head buyer in various departments. This gave her the opportunity to travel frequently to New York and many foreign countries. In 1974, she opened Intimates, an upscale lingerie store in Plaza Frontenac. When she retired, she enjoyed this next stage of life, learning to play golf, working part-time at Racketman, and tutoring new Americans through the Parkway Adult Education program.
Eleanor is survived by her niece Judy (Bob) Bierman and nephew Marty (Mimi) Levy. She was a proud great-aunt to Ashley (Jim) Kinnett, Matt (Jessica) Bierman, Sara Lynn (Jeremy) Braslow, Jeremy (fiancée Lauren Cohen) Levy, and very proud great-great-aunt to Hailey Lucy Bierman.
Eleanor’s family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of Brookdale Creve Coeur and Three Oaks Hospice for their attentive and compassionate care.
A private graveside service was held on Thursday, December 12th at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery-White Road. Contributions in Eleanor’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. A RINDSKOPF-ROTH SERVICE
