Eleanor Mathes Steinbach, died May 18, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Joseph B. Steinbach. Dear mother of Susan (Jim) Bivins and Freddie (Patty) Steinbach. Loving grandmother of Kathy (Paul) Lehman Schletewitz, Kim (Robert) Kirby, Sally (Jonathan) King and David (Jamie) Steinbach. Dear great-grandmother of Joy, Josiah, Claire, Shawn, Hanna, Sophia, Jack, Max and Sadie. Beloved sister of Julian (the late Barbara) Mathes. Dear sister-in-law of Bette Spitzer and the late Lee Wallas. Eleanor was a leader in the community, ably serving Temple Israel, The Red Cross, The Gift Gallery at Jewish Hospital and many other causes. She was happily married to Joseph Steinbach, a local entrepreneur, for 67 years. Her greatest accomplishments were as a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and cousin; as well as a friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral service Wednesday, May 22, 11:00 AM at Temple Israel, #1 Rabbi Alvan D. Rubin Drive. Visitation for Mrs. Steinbach 10:30 AM Wednesday. Interment private.
