Eleanor “Ellie” H. Barbach (nee Cohen), passed away peacefully in her home November, 16th, 2021 at the age of 92. Devoted wife of the late Harry H. Barbach; Dear Sister of Beverly Katz of Sherman Oaks, CA. and the late Vivian Cohen of Las Vegas, NV. Dear Friend of Howard Siegel.

Ellie is the Loving Mother of Vicki (Brian) Schaff of St. Louis, MO and Bob (Nancy) Barbach of Great Neck, NY; The Caring Grandmother of Heather Pierce, Evan Pierce, Erin (Scott) Silver and Jordan Barbach; Special Great Grandmother of Caleb and Cameron Pierce and Reid Silver; dear aunt of Gail Craven, Annie (David) Katz-White and families of Los Angeles area of CA.

Eleanor was born September 12, 1929 in Los Angeles, California. She met Harry when she was 16 in High School Spanish class. They married when she was 18 and had 2 children in Los Angeles before moving to St. Louis in 1960. Ellie had a long career as a Pre-School Teacher at both Congregation Shaare Emeth and Temple Israel.
Her passion for music led her to play piano and sing throughout her life until her final days.

Ellie was a lifelong member of Congregation Shaare Emeth which enriched her love for Judaism. Yehi zichra baruch, May Her Memory Be a Blessing.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, November 22nd, 2021 10:30 AM at Congregation Shaare Emeth, 11645 Ladue Road, St. Louis, MO 63141.
