Dear husband of Judith Noveson Koshner for 62 years; Father of Alan Jay Koshner and Richard David Koshner; dear grandfather of Rebecca Lee Koshner and Jennifer Anne Koshner; dear brother of the late Selma Koshner Nathanson (late Sol), the late Martin Koshner (late Muriel) and the late Audrey Koshner Weisman (late Paul).  Dear uncle to special nephews and nieces; dear cousin; dear brother in law of David (Harriet) Adelstein.

Edward served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

After he completed military service, he received a Bachelors Degree in Business and a Masters Degree in Education from Washington University.  At Washington University he won 1st place in the National Intercollegiate handball doubles tournament, and consecutive 1st place finishes in the St. Louis Forest Park Handball Tournament.  

Edward was the Assistant Athletic Director at YMHA from 1958 until 1960.  While at the YMHA, he competed on basketball and fast pitch softball teams that won several awards.   

Thereafter Edward was an educator in the University City Schools from 1960 until 1991.  Edward was a physical education teacher at multiple elementary schools and Hanley Junior High School.  He was also a successful football and wrestling coach.  His 1973 varsity wrestling team at U. City finished in 5th place at the Missouri High School State Wrestling Championship in Columbia, Missouri.  In 1969 his wrestling teams finished in 2nd place in the St. Louis High School District Wrestling Tournament.  In 1973 his wrestling team finished in 3rdplace in the Regional Wrestling Tournament.  After Edward retired from U. City schools he taught 16 years at Epstein Hebrew Academy.   

Edward also served as camp director at Lucky Day Camp, Sherwood Day Camp, Camp White Cloud for U. City Schools and was the director at beautiful Camp Wah Kon Dah in the Ozarks which later became Camp Sabra.

He always came home happy because he did what he loved.  His students always gave him great joy.  Many of his students became successful doctors, lawyers and business men.

Graveside service was held Friday, November 8, 2:00 PM at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 650 White Rd. 63017.  Memorial contributions preferred to Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University  Research Programs and Temple Israel Congregation.
