Edith G. Sacks

Edith G. Sacks, died January 18, 2012 at age 92 in Atlanta, Ga. Born in St. Louis, she and her husband moved to Atlanta in 1971 to be near their children. Widow of Meyer Sacks to whom she was married 60 years; mother of the late Meyer Sacks, Sharon Loef of Athens, Barbi Sacks and Lenie Sacks, both of Atlanta; mother-in-law of the late Fred Loef of Athens, Ga.; grandmother of Julie (Eric) Weiss, Amy Loef and Lauren (Marc) Skalla; great-grandmother of Zackary and Joie Beth Weiss, and Eva Skalla. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was active in many Jewish organizations and was loved by all who knew her. A longtime member of B’nai Torah Synagogue, she will be sadly missed by her family and friends in St. Louis and Atlanta and will be remembered as a beloved, caring, and very funny lady whose kitchen always smelled wonderful of her freshly-baked Kamish Bread. To know her was to love her as she was a true “Woman of Valor,” who dedicated her life to the well-being of her family.
