Earl Clarence Essman

EARL CLARENCE ESSMAN, age 89, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2017.

Earl was raised in St. Louis and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Washington University after serving in the U.S. Army in Japan. He worked in the Real Estate Development area for all of his career. Prior to his passing, he resided in Creve Coeur and was a member of the American Legion Post 397 in Creve Coeur.

Earl was the beloved husband to Marian Essman who preceded him in 2001, and a loving partner to Marilyn Shapiro for the last 17 years. He was a devoted father to Marsha (John) Lotzy and Marilyn (Kent) Houston, loving grandfather to Aimee (Chris) Owens and Tyler Houston, and great grandfather to Jack and Kate Owens. Earl was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Rose Essman, and his brother Noel Essman. He has one surviving brother, Robert Essman.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, October 6 at Bellerive Gardens Mausoleum Chapel followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
