Dr. Richard Tureen, died November 30, 2012 in Coral Springs, Fl. where he had lived for than 35 years. Born November 20, 1934; son of the late Rose and Bernard Tureen; father of Cheryl (Hunter) Payne; Edward (Heather) Tureen; grandfather of five; brother of Lynn Kanefield and Tom Tureen; brother-in-law of Dr. Donald Kanefield and Erin Lehane; owner and friend of his two cats, Rebecca and Casper, who will be cared for by his daughter. Richard found his passion in his 50’s after he returned to school and earned a Ph.D. from Nova University in family therapy. With this degree in hand he touched many lives. He was a full professor at Barry University for the last 15 years of his life where he was highly regarded by students and faculty alike. He was a gentle soul who leaves behind a legacy of service and goodness. May he rest in peace.
