Dr. Morris David “Dave” Weiner, age 89, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2022

Beloved husband of Vivian (née Rosen) Weiner for sixty-five years.  Dear father of Susan (Craig) Silver and Barry Weiner.  Loving grandfather of Julie (Bill) Schwent, Jessica (Ryan) Neumann, and Daniel (Eric Jizba) Silver.  Proud and cherished great-grandfather of Lucie Neumann, Cassidy Neumann, and Callan Schwent.  Dear brother of the late Judith Peters. Beloved son of the late Sonia and Julius Weiner of Waltham, Massachusetts.   He also leaves several nieces and nephews and their children, plus many cousins around the world.

David was valedictorian at his high school graduation in Waltham where he graduated with top honors and scholarships. He obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree from Columbia University. After serving in the army, David opened his own optometric office in Waltham where he practiced his profession for nearly forty years, with Vivian as his front office assistant.

David and Vivian moved to Creve Coeur, Missouri from West Palm Beach, Florida just six months ago to be nearer to family. Prior to living in Florida, the couple lived in Massachusetts in the towns of Waltham, Framingham, Marlboro, and Auburn. David and Vivian spent about thirty summers camping around the United States and enjoyed many cruises. They also visited many countries overseas, highlighted by their trip to Israel where their son had his Bar Mitzvah at the Western Wall.

David was always so happy being with his family and always looked forward to the next family gathering. In his spare time, David enjoyed fishing, bowling, and following the news and politics. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics. David was a life member of the American Optometric Association and Hadassah. His knowledge and passion of Judaism was remarkable. David will be remembered with love and admiration.
