Dr. Judita M. Hruza, died October 28, 2013. Beloved wife of Dr. Zdenek T. Hruza; mother and mother-in-law of Dr. Eva M. (Dr. Mark L.) Horn and Dr. George J. (Dr. Carrie T.) Hruza; grandmother of David C. Horn, Audrey M. Horn, Stephanie R. Hruza, Paul D. Hruza, Hope A. Williams and Rose K. Williams; sister of Denes (Bernadette) Ilkovics; aunt of Milena Filipkova, Anna Ilkovics and Stefan Ilkovics. Dr. Judita Hruza and her brother Denes survived the Holocaust where their parents and grandparents perished. Dr. Hruza emerged from the tragedy committed to life and family. She became a physician, initially in Europe and ultimately in the US. Though never bitter about her wartime experiences, she was passionate that these not be forgotten and was committed to sharing her history, especially among the young, to ensure that the world would neither forget those who were lost, nor why they died. Graveside service Friday, November 1st, 11 a.m. at New Mt. Sinai Cemetery, 8430 Gravois, St. Louis, Mo. 63123. A memorial celebration will be held on Sunday, November 3rd, 11 a.m. at the Holocaust Museum and Learning Center, 12 Millstone Campus Drive, St. Louis, Mo. 63146.
