Dr. Dennis Brian Winthrop, born April 21, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away early in the morning of October 29, 2025, after a battle with dementia and recent seizures. He is missed by the family and friends who love him so dearly.
Born to Michael and Lois (Oberman) Winthrop, Dennis developed lifelong loves of history and baseball. Hours spent in history museums seemed like minutes and he was always ready to watch his beloved Cardinals, especially Stan Musial. He was a voracious reader, absorbing 4-5 books a month, with history being at the top of his list. Another love of his was sweets, appreciating cruising for the multiple dessert options and opportunities!
He studied dentistry at Washington University School of Dental Medicine, becoming a proud dentist loved by his patients for his friendly, social nature and care and concern for their dental health.
Dennis and Linda Finkelstein were married in 1974, enjoying 51 years together. They were regular cruisers, exploring ports throughout the Caribbean, but unfortunately missing out on a cruise to Alaska due to the tragic events of September 11.
