Dorothy “Dottie” Dubinsky Cassett

Dorothy “Dottie” Dubinsky Cassett, was born February 5, 1915 in St. Louis, Missouri to Jack and Ethel  Dubinsky and passed away March 14, 2016 in Miami Beach, Florida.  She lived a glorious life of 101 years. 

Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, her daughter, Bonnie Fisher and her brothers,  Harold (Myra) Dubinsky and Melvin (Harriett) Dubinsky. 

Dottie and Louis raised two daughters, Mary Gail and Bonnie, in St. Louis, Missouri and then moved to Miami Beach in 1954.  Dottie had friends all around the Miami area from Westview Country Club and La Gorce Country Club.  She won several fishing tournaments with her husband on their boat, “The King’s Dot”.  She enjoyed playing golf, bridge, knitting, needlepointing, the performing arts, shopping and entertaining. 

Miami will miss her philanthropic work: The United Fund, she was a founding member of Mount Sinai Medical Center and was awarded “Woman of the Year” by the Miami Jewish Health Systems in 2010. 

Dottie passed away peacefully in her home and is survived by her daughter Mary Gail (Richard) Dalton, son-in-law Robert Fisher, six grandchildren; Robert ‘Randy’ (Angela) Dalton, James (Karen) Dalton,  Caroline (Cary) Okmin, Jacqueline (Scott) Frager, John Dalton and  Robert ‘Cass’ (Mariana) Fisher; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great- great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. 

Donations may be made in memory of Dorothy to the Miami Jewish Health Systems, 5200 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33137 or a charity of your choice.  A private service will be held in St. Louis, Missouri.
