Donna Elizabeth Cohen, affectionately known as “Grossman” to her husband, Grandma Donna and Mom to her family, passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on February 26, 1948, in Davenport, IA, she resided in Chicago and St. Louis, MO.
A talented fashion and interior designer, she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Washington University in St. Louis. Donna was not only known for her professional achievements but also for the love and warmth she brought to her family. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband Bob and a proud mother to her son Andy and daughter-in-law Ann. Her two grandsons, Ben and Charlie, were the lights of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them.
Donna lived by the motto “Live life to the fullest” and “Never miss a party.” She certainly embodied this philosophy. She had a passion for celebrating. Donna was always eager to organize events and parties. She had a talent of adorning, embellishing and enhancing every aspect when hosting. She was also known for her talented gift wrapping. Receiving a wrapped present from Donna was a gift in itself.
Beyond her family life, Donna was dedicated to her community. Donna often volunteered at the local food pantry and the Cancer Support Community. Her generosity and kindness touched the lives of many.
Donna will be remembered for her optimistic attitude, her love for life, shopping and chocolate. Many nights Donna could be found fast asleep on the couch with her hand in a bag of Hershey Kisses.
How blessed we were to have had Donna in our life as wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
