Widowed of Nikki in 1985; father of Drew Caplan, Lizz Caplan-Carbin, and Scott Caplan; grandfather of Samantha Caplan; cousin of Harvey Gerstein; uncle of Barry Alberstein; favorite Uncle, and good friend to more than I can mention. Pioneer, with his wife Nikki, in Sport Ballooning in the 1960’s and helped Nikki create the Great Forest Park Balloon Race. Graveside service at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery, 9125 Ladue Rd, St Louis, MO 63124, Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. The family is gathering at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel St. Louis after the service.
