Donald L. Goldwasser         

Born November 30, 1932 in St. Louis, passed away March 2, 2018 in Fayetteville, NC.

Son of the late Ely Goldwasser and the late Evelyn Bernstein Goldwasser; married for 62 years to Nannette Wolchansky Goldwasser; father of Robert (Orit) of Mevasseret, Israel and Linda (Drew) Rosen of Fayetteville, NC; grandfather of Mia Goldwasser (Alex) Mansfield of Boston, Dafna Goldwasser of Boston, Justin (Mara) Rosen of Tampa and Ashley (Elliot) Friedman of Chevy Chase, MD; great-grandfather of Jacob Brett Friedman.

Don graduated from Clayton High School in 1950 and was president of Clayton’s chapter of the National Honor Society. He attended Grinnell College and graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans with a BBA degree. While at Tulane, Don was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma national honorary business fraternity and was a member of Sigma Alpha Mu social fraternity. Don’s career includes 44 years at Security Van Lines of Kenner, LA. He also was president of the Better Business Bureau of Greater New Orleans and president of the Movers and Warehousemen’s Association of America and president of the Movers Association of Greater New Orleans and Kiwanis Club of Moisant in Kenner, LA.   Don and Nan moved to Fayetteville, NC from the New Orleans area in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina. 

Funeral service Tuesday, March 6, 11:00 a.m. at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 7500 Olive Boulevard.
