David and Susan got married in 1991, and celebrated 30 years together last October. After graduating in 1986, David was a public defender for five years before switching to his own private practice. He was also a night court judge.David was a lifetime member of the Masonic Temple. He loved fencing, and was at one point the fencing champion of the Midwest.

Some of David’s other hobbies included fishing, riding and caring for his horses, being a Civil War re-enactor, going to the gun range, collecting firearms, taking pictures with his Nikon camera, going out to eat, and snacking on BBQ potato chips.

Above everything, David loved his wife and daughters dearly, and fought stubbornly to be with them up to the very end. Despite all the health struggles he dealt with every day, he never gave up and faced each day with optimism. He will be missed by many
