Carolyn Fishgall Jacobs

Carolyn Fishgall Jacobs, died August 16, 2014 at age 96 in St. Louis, Mo, and was formerly of Sioux City. She is predeceased by her parents, Florence (Sampter) and Hyman Fishgall, her husband of 57 years, Stanley I. Jacobs and her sister, Marion Fishgall.  She graduated from Central High School, Sioux City, Iowa and attended Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill. Her father, followed by her husband, were the owners of Fishgall’s, a women’s specialty ready to wear store in Sioux City. She enjoyed raising her three girls and they, along with her husband, were the love of her life. After living in Sioux City for 77 years, she and her husband moved to St. Louis to join their three daughters. The years she lived in St. Louis were very special to her as once again she enjoyed time spent with family. Those who knew Carolyn will remember her as a refined lady, beautiful inside and out. She is survived by three daughters: Marge Smith (the late Gerald Smith), Ellen Farber (Norman), Carol Jacobs; eight grandchildren: Kim (Adam Kahn) Smith, Bryan (Brooke) Smith, Andy (Johanna) Smith and Patrick (Becky Henretta) Smith; Todd Farber, Tim Farber, Carrie Blumenfeld, Amy Blumenfeld and ten great grandchildren.
