Bernell Stein died May 17, 2017 In Boca Raton, Fla., with her loving children at her side.

She was the St. Louis-born daughter of the late Ethel and Freeman Stein. Bernell is survived by daughter Elodie F. Mcallister, son Arlen (Patti) Fischlowitz; grandchildren Elyssa (Ben) Holzer, Andrea (Brandon Weiss) Fischlowitz, and Ross Mcallister; great-grandchildren, Jude Holzer And Mika Weiss; sister Marilyn (Lou) Salini; many beloved nieces and nephews; and former husband Merle Fischlowitz.

Bernell Graduated University City High School in 1952, where she was pianist for the school orchestra. She attended Washington University, and had a career in sales in St. Louis and in Florida, where she has lived since 1971.
