Annabel Drazen Rosenbloom

Annabel Drazen Rosenbloom, died July 17, 2011. Beloved widow of Samuel Rosenbloom for 67 years; dear mother of Eliot Jon Rosenbloom and Ray (Allison Wilcox) Rosenbloom; dear grandmother of Liana Rosenbloom; dear sister of the late Abe, (the late Mary) Drazen, the late Michael (Helen) Drazen, the late Eva (the late Meyer) Gallup, the late Yale (the late Sylvia) Drazen; dear sister-in-law of Marvin (Evie) Rich; dear aunt, great-aunt and friend. She earned a Masters degree in art history from Washington University, received a scholarship to study at the Sorbonne in 1937, and was an active artist particularly in oils, sculpture and photography, exhibiting her work and winning numerous awards. She served the community organizing the B’nai Amoona Book Sale, leading a Brandeis Women’s art study group, and volunteering for Hadassah, B’nai Amoona Sisterhood, a senior center and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. She was especially admired for her deep devotion to Sam, their two sons, and the extended family, and for her modesty, graciousness and generosity.
