Anita Rothberg, died September 1, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Marvin Rothberg; dear mother and mother-in-law of Doug Rothberg, Diane Ezell, Cathy (John) Loser, Greg Rothberg and Stacy (David) Rolfe; dear grandmother of Joshua, Zachary, the late Dana, Ben and Alex Ezell, Allison (Jorge) Vasquez, Ashley and Jack Loser, Spencer, Belle and Oliver Rolfe; dear sister and sister-in-law of Lorraine Hageman, the late Frank (Jean) Roth, Jr., the late Kenny (the late Marilyn) Roth, the late Donald (Patricia) Roth and the late Bobby Roth; dear sister-in-law of the late Sara (the late David) Hertz, Ronnie (the late Munnie) Blitz, the late Esther (the late Lou) Molos, the late Liffie (the late Leo) Cosentino, the late Janet (Nathan) Alper-Perlstein and the late Manuel (the late Sylvia) Rothberg; our dear aunt, cousin and friend. To try and encapsulate our Mom’s nearly 87 years of life in a matter of a few short words would be a challenge to say the least. But, here are a few insights as to the kind of person she was… she told our Grandma from the first date that she would marry our Dad… as an OASIS reading volunteer, she made sure her special student, Rodney, always had treats to pass around to the class on his birthday, she let one of us kids have a parakeet, she chased one of us around the pool table with a wooden spoon, she made every grandchild feel as though they were the only one, she made the best brisket and gravy, she made magic happen at the holidays and she always, always, knew just what to say. In fact, her last words spoken to one of her kids, was “I love you too”. Mrs. Rothberg was a member of United Hebrew Congregation. Graveside service Thursday, September 4th, 10:30 AM at United Hebrew Cemetery, 7855 Canton Avenue. Memorial contributions preferred to the St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105. Visit bergermemorialchapel.com for more information. Berger Memorial
