Anita Marie Schwartz peacefully passed away at home on November 21, 2024. Anita, born to MaryLou and the late James Holt, on November 1, 1958. She is the beloved wife of Daniel Schwartz; dear mother and mother-in-law of David Schwartz (Meghann), Lauren Wilhite (Sean), and Gregory Schwartz (Tracey); dear grandmother of Joseph, Miles, Benjamin, Everett, and the late Caleb; dear sister of James Holt (Jan) and Alan Holt (Stephanie); dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Anita married her high school sweetheart, Dan, and together they built a beautiful life, celebrating 45 years of marriage. Their love was a testament to devotion, friendship, and partnership. Whether they were camping under the stars, exploring new places on their travels, or simply enjoying quiet moments at home, they created countless memories that will forever be cherished.
Anita was an incredible mother, always putting her family first, and adored being “Nana” to her beloved grandsons. She shared a special bond with each of them, offering love, wisdom, and her ever-present soothing voice. Her greatest joy was in watching her family grow, and she was a constant source of support and comfort.
A lover of music, Anita could always be found singing along to her favorite songs, her gentle voice bringing joy to those around her. She had an unshakeable love for life’s simple pleasures, especially when it came to indulging in a dish of chocolate ice cream in the comfort of her home. Anita was also an extraordinary cook and baker, known for her delicious homemade meals and especially her cookies, which were a favorite of family and friends alike.
Anita’s legacy of love, music, and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Funeral service will take place on Monday, November 25 at noon at Temple Emanuel, 12166 Conway Road. Brief visitation prior to the funeral. Interment follows at United Hebrew Cemetery, 7855 Canton Avenue. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Temple Emanuel, or the American Thyroid Association.
