Allen G. Rubins, died June 27, 2013 in Tampa, Fl. Born February 22, 1916; survived by his daughter, Phylis Schachter, grandchildren, Lorrie (Jarrod) Nadel and Joel (Kim) Schachter, and great-grandchildren, Samantha and Taylor Nadel and Zachary, Sophie and Jacob Schachter. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Ruth and his treasured son, Marc. Rubins was a World War II veteran and a past Commander of the Mnookin-Brown American Legion Post. He was a member of Kehilath Israel Synagogue in Kansas City and held multiple offices in their Men’s Club and attended Temple Ahavat Shalom in Palm Harbor, Fl. He was also a long time volunteer at Johnson County Developmental Supports. He was an artist who exhibited paintings at the Kansas City Plaza Art Fair and other exhibitions. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who lived his life enjoying each moment with love, dignity, intelligence, creativity and humor.
