Alfred Ginewsky, died December 10. 2010 at the age of 95 in Sarasota, Fla. Formerly of Longboat Key and born Nov. 17, 1915, Ginewsky was originally from Hartford, Conn. Partner of 20 years of Miriam “Mimi” Edlin of St. Louis; father of Jay Ginewsky, and Karen Ludgin; step-father of Suzanne Young; grandfather of two; great-grandfather of four and “faux pas” to extended family members Jamie Edlin-Schnieder, Laura Wendel and Mari Edlin.

A service of remembrance will be held at a later date in Longboat Key, Fla. He spent much of his professional career as a restaurateur and partner in the historic Avon Old Farms Inn in Avon, Conn., a career that suited him well because he loved hosting evenings of dining and wining with friends. He was a proficient golf and tennis player at the Longboat Key Club and Resort, boat enthusiast, stone and silver sculptor and humorist par excellence.
