Beloved wife of the late Donald F. Zawada; dear sister of Arthur (Marcia) Schneider; dear aunt of Lisa (Peter) Gluck  and Emily (Kevin) Kispert; cousin of Dr. Marilyn Siegel and Dr. Barry Siegel; dear daughter of the late Meyer and late Gertrude Schneider; friend to many.

Aleene grew up in St. Louis and studied at Washington University, where she remained a dedicated supporter throughout her life. In collaboration with the university, she helped establish an award recognizing students for exceptional academic achievement in Jewish studies. Aleene’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to open a successful gifts and novelties business in St. Louis. She was a beloved and active member of her synagogue, Kol Rinah, and was known for her generous heart, contributing to numerous charitable causes and nonprofit organizations. Her passion for community was evident in all she did.
