Alberta Mae “Bert” Cohen, March 11, 1930 – June 30, 2018

Beloved wife of the late Melford (Mel) Neil Cohen; dear mother and mother-in-law of Bruce (Anna), Craig (Karen), and Alan (Dawn Zehr); dear grandmother of Aaron, Stephen, Jordan, Arielle, Eva, and Samuel; and great-grandmother of Aiden.  One of ten children of the late Ellen and Harry Appleman, Bert is survived by her dear brothers Irv and Kenneth and sister-in-law Joyce Fischer.   Dear aunt and friend to many.

Bert returned to college as she and Mel raised their children, graduating magna cum laude from University of Missouri – St. Louis with a degree in Psychology.  She had a rewarding career at St. Louis County Board of Probation and Parole as an Officer and Supervisor.  She loved to sing and tap dance and was a member of the Cameo Club.  Bert and Mel were longtime members of United Hebrew Congregation.

Graveside service Sunday, July 1^st2:30 PM at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodel Cemetery, 9125 Ladue Road.  Memorial contributions preferred to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (www.umdf.org), Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation (www.crohnsandcolitis.com), or to the charity of your choice.
