Albert Hirson

Passed away September 30, 2017 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. He is survived by his “sweetheart” wife of 62 years, Rita (Feith) Hirson. Beloved father of Diane and Judith Hirson. Adored grandfather of Chelsea Ruth Shea. Beloved brother of the late Charles L. (Dolores) Hirson. Our dear uncle, cousin and cherished friend.

Albert was born on November 10, 1923 in St. Louis to the late Bernard and Rose Hirson. He attended Washington University and was a member of Sigma Alpha Mu. As a 1940’s member of the paparazzi in Los Angeles, Albert shot hundreds of photos of celebrities. He came back to St. Louis to start his own photographic chemical company, Albert Chemical (followed by Trebla Chemical), developing chemicals used by mass photo processing plants around the world. A Boy Scout since his youth, Albert volunteered for the Greater St. Louis Area Council as Director of the Troop Leader Development Course. He also served as assistant council commissioner for training, and was honored with the Silver Beaver Award and the Shofar Award. He was a Master Gardener for the Missouri Botanical Garden for almost 30 years, a Bridge Life Master, trophy-winning bowler, life-long member of B’nai El Congregation, and was involved in community theatre as an actor and photographer.
