At Congregation B’nai Amoona’s recent Mitzvah Day, Harvey Cantor was honored as its Mitzvah Mensch, a tribute in memory of Lynn Myers.
Liessa Alperin, director of congregational life and engagement, said that Cantor is a warm and welcoming presence at the entrance of the prayer space at minyan and Shabbat mornings.
He remains actively involved in the life of the shul even years after his tenure as president of the congregation.
This shul is another home for him, and he shows that in his words but also in his actions. He never comes to shul without a donation to the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry.
